STABAT MATER

STABAT MATER is a reflective exploration on the suffering of Holy Mary during Christ’s crucifixion. In this project, ELECTRIO brings together voice, guitar, and electronics to offer a fresh perspective on this narrative. Drawing from Marco Rosano’s work, they recreate a Stabat Mater by reinterpreting pieces from Dowland and Monteverdi that convey the theme of mortality symbolically and poetically. The electronic elements consist of a range of noises and sounds seamlessly interwoven from the first to the last song through shared elements. These include aggressive and occasionally unsettling sounds, harmonizing with a pure and crystalline voice to reconstruct this prayer. Metaphorically linking the holy mother to Mother Earth, their prayer extends to our planet, with the hope that it remains unharmed. The aspiration is embedded in reinterpreting Baroque pieces, crafted over 400 years ago, now rearranged in a modern context and performed today. In this musical odyssey, they seek to communicate the timeless essence of music and articulate their fervent wish for it to be more than just the exclusive enduring legacy on this planet.

MAGNIFICAT

This album aims to capture the experience of walking through the majestic Magnificat of Vicoforte, and then out into a vibrant and chaotic modern world. It reflects both the serene beauty and the stress of contemporary life. The pieces in the Album have influenced my musical taste and guided me through this journey.

J.S. Bach Violin Partita BWV 1004

I was always fascinated from the melancholic and intimate character of the Partita in D minor. This immediate impression was the inspiration for my research and the transcription recorded. Through this instrument, with its delicate and mystical sound, I wanted to give my own personal interpretation, enriched by the colors of the six strings.

John Cage - Dream

"Dream" is a recording featuring electric guitar and a sustain pedal. The concept behind it was to adapt a composition originally composed for piano into the realm of electric guitar. To achieve the desired minimalist and dreamy sound, I used the Sustain Gamechanger Plus pedal.

Serie Paganini/Barrios

Serie is a project in which the concept of "agitated" is described. The project opens with the capriccio 5 by Niccolò Paganini, in which the author requests an Agitato immediately after the introduction, given by the succession of arpeggios that alternate almost touching each other and almost losing the initial tempo due to the too high speed. The second piece is a prelude in C minor by Augustine Barrios, the key of C minor is independent in a dark and mysterious atmosphere. The slow tempo of the prelude is profoundly in contrast with the first piece, but this mysterious atmosphere prolongs the feeling of agitation and mystery that we had when listening to the caprice of Paganini.

Yellow Traffic Light

"Yellow Traffic Light" is an excursion into space. Being at a traffic light is often stressful—questions arise: "Should we go? Should we stop? Will it turn red soon?" It becomes even more challenging to decide when faced with a yellow traffic light. This album reflects on the decision-making process akin to embarking on a journey, specifically into space. The pieces were collaboratively written with producer EROES and recorded in his studio in Italy as a "Covid project," born from a deep yearning for travel during a time of restricted movement.
